Day 3 out of the 8 days Cairo, Luxor & Abu Simbel tour. After breakfast, you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Aswan. You will receive all the expected assistance upon your arrival in Aswan and the tours start right away. You will visit the High Dam, built in the 60s to resolve an ancient issue (the Nile flooding), followed by the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and Hathor. The trip takes around 3h30 and will be done in a comfortable vehicle. You will be stunned by the beauty of these two temples carved into the rocks and built by Ramses II. The big temple is dedicated to the universal gods as to Ramses II himself, and the small one is dedicated to his wife Nefertari as the goddess Hathor. After breakfast, visit the first Luxor attraction: the Valley of the Kings, the resting place of kings and princes - it contains tombs that impress by their good conservation state. You will stop by the Colossi of Memnon, two big statues of king Amenhotep III; there is a curious story behind their name that you should ask your tour guide about! Your guide will accompany you to Karnak and Luxor temples. The first one is the largest ancient religious complex of the world and you will be impressed by its temples and the Hypostyle Hall, and the second is a magnificent temple dedicated to the god Amun.
